So I'm hoping your year so far has been full of sunshine and joy, mine has started with a bang!
(IF YOU WANT TO SEE ALL THE PIC'S YOU NEED TO CLICK ON THE POST'S TITLE)
Lots of exciting opportunities, endeavours, adventures and experiments, artfully speaking. These pic's represent some of those outcomes and explorations, stay posted on either the LAUNDRY rooms facebook page or instagram for finished works, exhibitions, fairs etc... You'll also get to see what some of my extremely talented friends are up to! Who knows maybe this year I'll be more organised and I'll manage to get a few more blog posts done too...
The PARTNERSHIP exhibition at LOT19 was curated by the wonderfully talented Ashley Mariani, the basis being that a local artist was to join forces with someone they admire from the city to create work which reflected this partnership.
I realise I'm a bit slow in sharing this as the exhibition has now wrapped up but I really enjoyed being a part of it and working with a dear friend who I find incredibly inspiring, the beautiful PAUL COMPTON.
The artists involved in this project were: Kim McKechnie, Ilka White, Emily Farretti, Jarad Curwood, Catherine Pilgrim, Rona Green, Fiona Kennaugh, Rebbecca Murray, Paul Comptom, Inta Krumins, Robert McLaurin, Bronte Pleasance, Allie Stimpson and myself.
Unfortunately I don't have photo's of all the work to share but this gives you a taste of what a great show this was!
Aviary is all wrapped up now but please do show your support to the next range of LYREBIRDS currently on display at PORT JACKSON PRESS, a beautiful bunch made by master printer MARTIN KING, gotta love a lyre bird! x
As business picks up I will be available at FRAMED's beautiful little studio at LOT 19 on select days, however until then if you have a treasure in need of archival framed protection, an exhibition that needs framing, or a quirky piece found at the opshop to add to your collection please feel free to contact me in regards to an obligation free framing consultation.

This coming Saturday the 12th of April see's Port Jackson Press Australiaofficially launch their new gallery space! Still on Smith Street, Collingwoodthey have moved a handful of doors down over Gertrude to number 84. So if your free on Saturday between 2 and 4pm drop by for the celebration and check out the supremely talented Marion Manifolds new exhibition at the same time!
Being opened by Jennifer Kalionis the Director of Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum, the Tree Show is a diverse collection of works which starts with each artist’s personal interpretation of the tree. The exhibition features some of Australia’s leading contemporary and established print based artists. There are additional feature paintings, prints and sculptures by several of the artists as part of the exhibition. The Cascade Print Workshop has been in operation for over twelve years. In 2013, Jeff Gardner and Kareen Anchen of Cascade invited over 30 artists to be part of The Tree Show, which was included in the Castlemaine State Festival open studios exhibitions.
So... I have moved back to the country... (People keep telling me BENDIGO isn't country anymore but it certainly feels like it after Fitzroy!) After packing up the Laundry Room, the dog, the kid etc... here I am and I'm about to start up a new little picture framing business AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO CALL IT!
So my lovelies, I have a proposition for you!
Anyone who thinks they have the perfect name for a Picture Framing business that uses solely sustainably grown Australian timbers with beautiful, contemporary and bespoke hand finishes, please go to my facebook page or instagram feed and look for this Little Blue Fairy Wren and leave a comment. Alternatively you can send your responses to firstname.lastname@example.org or leave me a message on the contact page of this website.
Whom so ever comes up with the most fitting name recieves this Little Blue Fairy Wren delivered to their door (well actually your letterbox but hey).
We have until May 1st to come up with something brilliant, so if you know anyone who might be a genius at this kind of thing, anyone who maybe fascinated with birds, someone who in the near future requires a picture framer in the Central Victoria region, or anyone at all really, please forward this information on. Oh and a few LIKES along the way don't hurt either!
The ultimate Genius will be uncovered in The Laundry Room Press's next Newsletter/Blog post along with further details of the progress of my little business venture.
Well there is a lot more work to do yet but I thought I would give you a sneak peek of what my new studio will soon look like. I'm VERY excited!
This place will soon house The Laundry Room Press, The Recycled Things Co, my own little framing business (I'm yet to find a name for) and my son's new venture of building Australian timbered skateboards...
So here is one of the nicer before shots of what is soon to be my new studio!
It certainly does feel like a magic trick as there is a great deal to be done to make this space a beautiful workshop, but fortunately I have some truly wonderful friends who are going to help me transform this place.
I will share some after shots with you once the magic has happened!
